Former YYYY member DJ Peper makes their vinyl debut on Cusde with four
stripped-back house cuts that root themselves firmly in classic Detroit
aesthetics, but also carry a distinctly Buenos Aires edge in the track
titles and atmosphere. 'Buenosayres 3AM' does exactly what the name
suggests - this is deep, unhurried machine groove built for the small hours
'Vuelta Al Galvez' opens with thick bass and dub currents laced with
swirling vocal paranoia, the title track deepens the mood considerably
across six minutes of submersion, then 'El Sereno' and 'Plataforma 9' close
with the kind of purposeful minimalism that needs a decent system to rival
its meticulous merits.
