Toronto's Peach, working in loose orbit with Vancouver's Mood Hut axis,
turns in a mini set that feels wilfully unhurried as if it has slipped its
obligations to the dancefloor and isn't entirely sorry about it. It comes
after a stretch of travel and some personal recalibration, both of which
surface in the music. 'Batangas Beat' lumbers along on a damp, bass-heavy
throb, its percussion smeared into something almost tactile. 'Rainy Season'
seeps outward, all vapour and half-glimpsed melody. 'Accidental Zoom'
briefly threatens definition before softening again. By 'Christian's Song',
it has thinned to a faint, saline afterglow, oddly affecting.
