°Û± With the debut album “First Kiss” by German band KISSING DISEASE, ±Û°
°Û± Z-POP - the Young & Cold sublabel for German-language music - ±Û°
°Û± presents its third release. ±Û°
°Û± ±Û°
°Û± The wave of young German/German-speaking musicians - musically ±Û°
°Û± oriented on the New Wave sound of the 80s - does not end and thus ±Û°
°Û± appeal to a completely new, young audience. At concerts, young ±Û°
°Û± adults celebrate the music from a period, when their parents were ±Û°
°Û± still teenagers. Shows by acts like Culk and Edwin Rosen are sold ±Û°
°Û± out across Germany and as a young person born in the 70s and 80s, ±Û°
°Û± you quickly feel like an "old fart.“ But of course it's great ±Û°
°Û± that a whole new generation .is interested in such atmospheric ±Û°
°Û± music, which is far away from the monotony of the charts called ±Û°
°Û± "Deutsch Pop", and is celebrating it at concerts. ±Û°
°Û± The first KISSING DISEASE album contains the debut “First Kiss” ±Û°
°Û± EP on the A-side, plus 3 more Songs on the B-side, of which ±Û°
°Û± “Metamorphose” and “Eiswueste” were already released digitally in ±Û°
°Û± advance. ±Û°
°Û± ±Û°
°Û± The direction is clearly recognizable, electronic Wave with a lot ±Û°
°Û± of atmosphere and introvert vocals. This used to be called ±Û°
°Û± Coldwave, a music that was mainly played in the 80s by French ±Û°
°Û± bands like Clair Obscur, Trisomie 21 or Norma Loy and is not as ±Û°
°Û± cold as the genre name suggests. In “Glasnost” magazine it was ±Û°
°Û± correctly described as “electronic sound art whose warmth lies in ±Û°
°Û± its coldness” and another Fanzine once said “Coldwave is Gothrock ±Û°
°Û± with electronic instruments”. With KISSING DISEASE there is also ±Û°
°Û± a pinch of NDW (early 80s German New Wave), so that songs like ±Û°
